baby poop

The mysterious world of baby poop. Here’s what to look for, Mom.

Baby poop. It’s one of the first clues to understanding your baby’s gut health. A quick check of baby’s diaper can tell you what you need to know. Because what’s showing up there can give you a pretty good read on what’s going on in baby’s gut.

What’s really going on in baby’s diaper?

Is baby’s poop soft and well-formed? Or is it mushy or watery? Does baby go poop two to three times a day or more like 5-8 times a day? Baby poop can be a mystery, but if you know what to look for, it can help you figure out what’s best for your baby.

If there’s something going on in baby’s gut, the first place to look is in their diaper. The quality of baby’s poop will signal the presence of ‘good’ versus ‘bad’ bacteria in baby’s gut. If your baby has 5 or more watery poops per day, chances are baby’s gut has more bad bacteria than good. When baby’s gut is unable to properly break down nutrients in breast milk, baby can’t absorb them, and all the unused nutrition goes to waste, passing through the system as baby poop.

If baby has fewer, soft and well-formed poops per day, that’s a sign that baby properly digesting and absorbing the nutrients from breast milk. Good for you both! But if baby is missing the good gut bacteria it needs, she is not alone. There are plenty of babies in the U.S. who are also experiencing a lack of good gut bacteria. In fact, nine out of ten babies are missing the good gut bacteria B. infantis. It’s a common occurrence and can be attributed to the wide use of antibiotics and the increasing number of C-sections we have today.

What you can do about it is simple: reintroduce B. infantis to baby’s gut. Evivo is activated B. infantis; it works with breast milk to help your baby absorb the necessary nutrients for optimal nutrition and to help good bacteria to thrive.

In our clinical studies, the babies taking Evivo had, on average, just two to three soft, well-formed baby poops each day. Some had fewer, pooping only every few days. Just two to three, instead of the somewhat continuous five to eight watery ones. That’s the activated probiotic at work.

Evivo is the only baby probiotic clinically proven to restore the important good bacteria, B. infantis, to baby’s gut, and reduce bad bacteria in baby’s gut by 80%. Evivo restores baby’s gut to the state that nature intended and sets up baby for health that can last a lifetime. Ask your pediatrician about it.

Suggested for super fussy newborn by pediatrician
Desperate to try anything for our two week old with major gas problems our pediatrician recommended evivo and we noticed a difference after several days. He seems to sleep better at night and it has helped him with his fussines during the day.

Good product. Price for starter kit not worth it.
Glad that this product exists to better the health of my baby. The price for the starter kit is unnecessarily high. It would be better to just purchase the refill and get yourself a dropper from a drug store. The milk can be mixed in the pouch. In addition, it isn’t necessary to make the mixture watery. You can just put a few drops of breast milk and create a paste. Use your finger to give it to baby.

Helped with gas and soupy poops
We saw a definite improvement within a few days of starting! Very quickly, our baby’s bowel movements became less liquid and less frequent; at one point, they went seven days between one poop and the next, but then they settled down into a once every 1-3 days routine (it had previously been around 3-5 poops a day). They definitely started sleeping better, though it’s hard to say whether that’s the Evivo or me eliminating dairy from my diet at the same time. Either way, their digestive tract was obviously doing much better! I totally flaked on re-ordering, and they started to have somewhat more soupy and frequent poops within a week of stopping, along with more nighttime fart attacks, but things rapidly went back to the new normal after the refill of Evivo arrived. I have no idea if it will help with their longer-term health, but it’s 100% worth it just for the improved sleep and digestion.

Our son was diagnosed with milk protein intolerance when he was 1 month old after several episodes of bloody stool. Even after I completely eliminated dairy from my diet, he pooped 6-8 times a day and vomited all the time (enough that we'd change his clothes 4-5 times a day). We started him on Evivo with hope that it would help alleviate his discomfort. IT WAS A GAME CHANGER! Only after a few days of taking it, he seemed like a much happier little guy. He only poops 1-2 times a day and he vomits way less. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

    Slowly but surely
I decided to try evivo since my baby was colic and had a hard time passing gas and stool. I had to take antibiotics when I was pregnant because of an infection so I figured that might have messed up my baby’s gut microbiome. By the 2nd day of taking evivo, my baby’s crying was less and he became more gassy but at least he was able to pass gas more easily. By the 2nd week, he was pooping regularly - around 3-4x a day. We tried using it every other day, and now he only poops 2x a day. His appetite grew as well and he is steadily gaining weight. I look forward to continuing using evivo and seeing the other benefits!
